Web Accessibility Help

Below, there are several actions you can take to adjust your web browser to make your web experience more manageable.

I am blind or can't see very well

If you have trouble seeing web pages, the following information explains how to use your computer or web browser to make it easier to see web pages. 

  1. Use your computer to read web pages out loud. 
    1. For instance, you can use a free browser plug-in called Browse Aloud to listen to the webs pages on mortgageaccess.com.  This plug- in is provided to you at no cost.
  2. Use the keyboard to navigate screens – some examples provided below.


     
  3. Increase text size
    1. With almost all web browsers you can hold down the CTRL key and press the + (plus) symbol/key to increase text size or – (minus) key to reduce size.
       
  4. Change background and text colors
     
  5. Make your mouse pointer more visible by using a Windows feature can help you locate it. (Some mouse drivers or software may not have this feature). Not all versions of Windows behave the same and you may need to refer to Windows help pages for further assistance.
     
  6. Magnify your screen by using Windows internal program.
    1. Press the Windows logo key‌ + Plus (+) on the keyboard to turn Magnifier on. Press Windows logo key + Esc to turn it off.
       
  7. Navigate Forms
    1. Filing out applications on this website is best accomplished in Microsoft Active Accessibility (MSAA) mode.  This allows you to tab to controls and fill input fields, radio buttons and check boxes.

Volume control

  1. Click the “Window logo key” button
  2. Click “Control Panel”
  3. Click “Hardware and Sound”
  4. Click ”Adjust System Volume”
  5. Use the column control to increase or decrease sound accordingly.

I find a keyboard or mouse hard to use

If you find a keyboard or mouse difficult to use, try using a speech recognition program such as Dragon® NaturallySpeaking.  This may help you navigate web pages and online services. This software allows the user to voice text into a text object and see the words on the computer screen.

I am deaf or hard of hearing

If you are deaf or hard of hearing, there are several computer features available.
